In memories

Nip

Nip, born on 24.12.2007, with the breeding name "Nip-Tuck Brains before Beauty" started her last journey on the very day this website was launched. We miss you so much...

Niptuck [nip=cut, tuck=put together]...call name Nip

You were given to Daniel by the Christ Child on 24.12.2007.As the name suggests, Nip was born by caesarean section. She has faced many challenges in her long life and has mastered them all with flying colours. She protected her Kooiker for life right to the end.Whenever there were loud words and emotions in the air, Nip was always there to show off her charisma.

In her last week she was still full of beans: playing, chasing Kooiker and always in the kitchen..., almost like a large Kooiker, as we used to say affectionately.

Then, on Tuesday afternoon, a sudden collapse...Nip could no longer move, had no appetite and lay there like a heap of misery.Daniel lay with her all night in the hope that Nip would be better again on Wednesday. But nothing had changed... It was with a heavy heart that we let her start her last journey on Wednesday afternoon, 14 June 2023...

Bon voyage Nip, life will be empty without you!

Braño

Braño, born on 1 May 2007, with the breeder's name "Umbraño Shila van Youngmuskyteira", was a ray of sunshine in the truest sense of the word. He was a play enthusiast and always full of zest for action, who knew how to touch people's hearts and win them over. He loved agility training more than anything, he was always on fire. Unfortunately, it was with a heavy heart that we had to accompany Braño on his last journey on 4 September 2020. Braño, you will always remain our Sunnyboy in our hearts...

We miss you!

Shamu

Shamu - my soul dog... I became aware of the Kooikerhondje through a club colleague. Shamu, whose breeder's name was "Weerwolf Nena van Muskyteira", was born in the Netherlands on 22 March 2000. Shamu was unique in the truest sense of the word. The black ear bark grew almost all over his coat and gave him his dark appearance.

Shamu was a fast and energetic agility dog in the truest sense of the word. Regula had the honour of running with Shamu at the following FCI Agility World Championships: in 2006 in Basel (CH), in 2007 in Hamar (NOR) and in 2008 in Helsinki (FIN). In Basel and Hamar Shamu won the vice champion title. In 2009, Shamu and Daniel ran at Shamu's last FCI World Championship in Dornbirn (A). Shamu continued running at national agility competitions in Switzerland until the end of 2012.

After Agility World Championship in Finland in 2008, Shamu suffered on acute kidney failure. We were lucky and he made a full recovery. In February 2013, the little man suffered an acute pancreatitis in combination with another kidney failure, from which he unfortunately never recovered.

Shamu - my soul dog, you will always remain in our hearts!

Skye

Skye - mother of Nip, Nyuma and Tiger, born on 17 August 2001 under the breeder's name "Templemoyle Skye" - was also a wonderful and energetic agility dog. Although she was a small Border Collie she mastered agility courses with confidence and without mistakes, which others did not know how to do. Daniel and Skye completed two clear rounds in the large team at the agility world championships in Basel in 2006.

Skye was an extremely loving mum who always knew how to put her youngsters in their place. But Nip, her daughter, knew exactly how to wrap her mum around her paws.

Sadly, Skye died under tragic circumstances on 4 February 2009.
